VACANCY: SALES CO-ORDINATOR
The main task of the sales co-ordinator is to ensure that sales targets as per the company annual plan are achieved within the routes assigned through proper management of the resources provided (human resources, time, vehicles etc).
REPORTS TO: the Sales manager
- Adhere to the company systems, policies and procedures
- Create contact with the customers, develop strategies with the customers to increase sales in the assigned routes so as to achieve the required targets and ensure that the customers make the required payments
- Assign territories to van men/ladies (demarcate routes) to ensure customer orders are met in a timely and accurate manner & enhance efficiency in the sales/delivery process
- Analyse customer purchasing data to track the sales of the various SKU’ s, optimise on sales efforts, identify gaps and opportunities
- Propose, review & justify customers terms of engagements i.e. credit, brans Support & route to market optimization
- Review the existing & prospective customer base quarterly, focusing on growth zones in the assigned territories
- Supervise the van sales team and track the targets and goals of each SKU and sales team member
- Coordinate training for the sales staff
- Maintain supplies of sales presentation materials and ensure that all customers in assigned regions are aware of products of the company
- New business development – identify potential customers (schools & institutions, supermarkets and distributors) and convert them into actual customers and ensure proper plans are made for delivery
- Reports – ensure reports are prepared (as per schedule & the required format) and are shared with the sales manager
- Market intelligence – quality of products, what competitors are doing and its probable effect on our products and ensuring that the information is used to improve the activities of the company
- Handle customer complaints within assigned routes and escalate anything beyond their threshold to the sales manager
- Ensure that the van sales men operating within the assigned area are only handling company goods
- Any other duty as assigned by the management
KEY PARTICIPATORY AREAS:
- Pass on any quality related information to the quality control/assurance department
- Assist other sales teams if collaboration is required for sales purposes
- Coordinate with the person in charge of logistics to ensure timely delivery to customers
- Share market intelligence regarding competitor activities, new products and new customers with the team
- Coordinate with the van sales person assigned on the routes under their jurisdiction to ensure consistent flow of accurate information
Prepares; Monthly/weekly market coverage plan (itinerary), market intelligence, depot sales & credit, brand support plan as well as new product market feasibility reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Sales & Marketing or a business-related course
- At least 2 years’ experience in sales – FMCG preferable
- Experience selling bread/confectionery products will be an added advantage
